A 42 day fast

This Sunday August 18 I have started a 42 day fast. The first day was a hard one. It is like my body knew I was going to fast for a long time and I was actually really hungry. I am use to intermittent fasting since I do fast intermittently at least three days every week and one day should be no problem. But it was.

The second day was easier. I had some headache and took a painkiller and then it was gone. The painkiller kicks in very fast when fasting. Since I medicate for high blood pressure, I need to drink a lot. So I drank some tea and vegetable bullion and other drinks that have very few or no calories. Before I go to bed I will drink some vegan protein drink since my goal is not to lose weight it is actually to gain weight but of course I do not think I will do that the next six weeks. The protein drink will help me from losing muscle and I will do some heavy weight lifting too.

Update September 15
The fast has been working fine until now. My whole family has got a cold and I quit the fast since I do not want to make the infection worse. On top of that I got an infection in my hands on my knuckles since I have been boxing with a sandbag without gloves. Don't do that. My knuckles are bleeding and infected so I will have a break to heal. Maybe I start fasting again in a week or so. Then I will have to start a new 42 day fast since this one only became three weeks. :)

Christians should be vegans

Modern materialism strips people of being responsible and so do religion. We put all responsibility on God or on our new doctor, drugs, food or what else instead of ourselves. Or we put the responsibility on God by saying “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” (Jam 4:15)( Surat Al Kahf (18):23-24)

And the Bible actually says that everything is allowed but that not everything  is constructive (1 Cor 10.23). That tells us that you are allowed to eat milk and honey, meat and wear leather clothing but it may not be beneficial to you.

You are not forced to fast but it may be good for you. It actually is good for almost all of us humans to fast. It is equally good for our bodies to abstain from meat wine and dairy have a multitude of academic research shown us. There are some few research results showing that it is good for us to drink a little wine and those has had a tremendous impact since every vineyard in the world refer to them every day.

What they seldom tells us is that it is an antioxidant called resveratrol in wine that is good for us and that that antioxidant can be found in raisins and in peanuts or in grape juice too. It may be even growing in your garden as Japanese Knotweed which contains a lot of resveratrol.

It is better to abstain from drinking wine, eating meat or other things as an offering to God, to a vegan is to show thankfulness to him.

In the garden of Eden there was no death - and no animal or man did die. Adam and Eve were actually vegans. God never meant us to eat meat. God actually said to man,

“I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food."(Gen 1:29)

That should be a hint of what we were supposed to eat - what God had intended. it was actually after the great flood that God allowed man to eat meat but it was not his initial intention. Man was so corrupt so God did allow this but meat eating became eventually heavily regulated in the Mosaic law and remember that before the flood it was not allowed.

To get forgiveness for sin you had to offer something to God and that was the blood of an animal. But now Jesus the son of God has offered his blood and we do not need to kill an animal as an sin offering anymore.

Meat was not food. Blood is not food. Vegetables has always been food and in the Kingdom to come the garden of Eden will be restored and we will eat from the tree of Life that bear fruit twelve times per year. (Rev 22:2) There there will be no death and no curse.
